OK, to start off with I have to make a confession. Zane hasn't been writing the blog during the past year. It's mostly been me (Jon/Baba) and occasionally Ellyn. I basically felt like I needed to come clean with the readership because it's going to be too complicated to keep the blog going from both the Marley and Zane perspective and I'll be doing the writing from the parentals perspective.
So, here we go.
Ellyn successfully VBACd (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) and the result was a beautiful baby girl named Marley Roslyn Black. She weighed in at 8lbs 5oz and was 20 inches long! For those of you not in the know, having a successful VBAC is hard to come by these days. For various reasons, we are very happy Ellyn was able to do it and both her and Marley stayed safe and healthy throughout the labor.
The transition to having a new baby around the house has gone surprisingly well. Zane and the dogs love having a new sister and are all very loving and gentle towards her. She has been a lot of fun and has quite the personality. I think she might have Ellyn's voice too. She loves breast milk and sleeping in all sorts of places; the swing, moms chest, her crib, the pack-and-play, the stroller, and the car!
Things are going great otherwise. We take walks daily, have gone to the Zoo and have many more excursions planned! Here are some photos to enjoi.
